Classical guitarists often encounter Spanish and South American music early in their studies as it so heavily impacted the repertoire of the 20th century.
New works of course have emerged and continue to do so with extended regional identities, diversified from an array of musical voices.
These pieces however, are written in a more traditional voice with the vitality of colour and rhythm that is so characteristic of the genre.
